Montgomery County Association of REALTORS® ... Wisdom, Strength, and a Long-standing tradition of service to it's members and the community.
Today's Montgomery County Association of REALTORS® can trace its roots back 85 years to the creation of the Norristown Real Estate Board, in 1920. Known simply as "The Board", this organization immediately applied to and was chartered by the then National Real Estate Association and was one of the first to be chartered by the Pennsylvania Real Estate Association also established in 1920.
Accordingly, The Board membership became bound by certain standards of ethics and business conduct that would facilitate a more pleasant working relationship with one another, give the public better service, and gradually aim to elevate the real estate business to a professional status. Over the decades that followed, neighboring localities followed suit and gave rise to their own real estate boards. Realizing the benefits in unifying efforts, a number of these Boards to include the North Penn Board of REALTORS®, the Central Montgomery County Board of REALTORS®, and the East Montgomery County Board of REALTORS® merged in 1998 to become the Montgomery County Association of REALTORS®.
The mission and traditions of this county's first REALTOR® Board formed nearly a century ago remains much the same in today's organization even as the wheels of technology and progress continue to mold and shape the industry. Imbedded in the very culture of Montgomery County Association of REALTORS® is the intention to provide superior service and advantage to those real estate professionals who choose to enhance their personal development through REALTOR® Association membership, which ultimately benefits the general public.
