Become a Realtor

A real estate licensee can be classified as a REALTOR® only after he or she has become a member of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION of REALTORS®.

Becoming a member of the Montgomery County Association of REALTORS® (MCAR) opens the door to the best tools, resources, and benefits in the business. Membership with MCAR automatically registers you as a member of the Pennsylvania Association of REALTORS® (PAR) and the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR), the largest trade organization in the country. This means you are kept informed of all the latest legal, educational, and political happenings regarding the real estate industry in your state and nationally.

This grand network of support pools its resources to serve the diverse needs of today's real estate professional though legislative and legal initiatives, business analysis, statistical research, industry trending, and special retail promotions that capitalize on the group buying power of such a large organization.

Once you are a member you are privileged to use the REALTOR® designation when advertising for business. This important symbol tells a lot about you. It distinguishes you from non-member brokers, and/or licensed salespersons, and signifies that you subscribe to a strict Code of Ethics, letting people know you are proactive in your pursuit of professional development.

Products and services provided exclusively for MCAR members include:

  • Administration of the SUPRA lock box program
  • Regional professional standards enforcement through the efforts of certified administrators and qualified committee members in Bucks and Montgomery County
  • The PAR Legal Hotline. This is a resource that connects MCAR members to attorneys in the office of the Pennsylvania Association of REALTORS® legal counsel. Attorneys are available to answer basic legal questions and to provide information to help members successfully work through many of the most common issues they face on a day-to-day basis.
  • Opportunity for growth through effective educational programming such as professional designation courses, industry awareness campaigns, and informational seminars
  • Legislative advocacy through the REALTORS® Legislative Alliance - a locally held subsidiary exclusive to the REALTOR® organization whose mission is to maximize the REALTOR® impact on legislation and regulatory issues to the benefit of REALTORS® and the protection of private property rights
  • Convenient and cost-effective access to up-to-date Real Estate Forms, Pamphlets, and Industry-related Tools
